Network Support Technician
The Network Support Technician / Administrator is a part of Production System Support group and is responsible for:
- Building and configuring high availability Server environments.
- Providing
effective and efficient support and administration of the server,
storage, desktop and network infrastructure operating in both
production and non-production environment.
- Providing
effective and efficient support and administration of the operating
systems in both production and non-production environment.
- Providing
effective and efficient support and administration of key supporting
technologies such as electronic e-mail and remote access facilities
(e.g. VNC,Citrix).
The Network Administrator is responsible for performing the activities of the Administrator.
Key responsibilities are to:
- Install and configure Windows 2000 Server
- Configure, diagnose and resolve any IP issues
- Client Networking in both Windows, Linux and Unix environments
- Install and configure Red Hat Linux
- Certification in Microsoft Windows Administration (MSCE)
- Commercial experience with Linux (automation, firewalls, general server hardening)
- Exposure and understanding of a Cisco network environments, CCNA would be an advantage
